Slow Cooker Cheese Hamburger Steak

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  1. 4 ground beef patties
  2. 10 ounces can cream of mushroom soup
  3. 1 cup beef stock
  4. 1 onion soup mix packet
  5. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  6. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  7. 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  8. 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  9. 4 pieces American or cheddar cheese slices

Instructions

  1. Place 4 pieces ground beef patties into the slow cooker and scatter 1 cups sliced mushrooms all around them.
  2. Whisk together 10 ounces of cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup beef stock, 1 packet of onion soup mix, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon brown sugar then pour evenly over the patties.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 7 hours until the patties are tender and the gravy is thick, deeply rich and incredibly flavourful.
  4. Lay 4 pieces American or cheddar cheese slices over each patty, replace the lid and cook for a further 10 minutes until the cheese is perfectly melted and gloriously gooey.
  5. Serve hot smothered in the velvety mushroom gravy straight from the pot.
