French Onion Meatballs

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb ground beef
  2. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  3. 1/3 cup milk
  4. 1 egg
  5. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  6. Salt and pepper to taste
  7. 1 tablespoon butter
  8. 1 large onion (thinly sliced)
  9. 1 teaspoon sugar
  10. 1 cup beef broth
  11. 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  12. 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  13. 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into meatballs.
  3. Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes.
  4. In a skillet, melt butter and cook onions with sugar until soft and caramelized.
  5. Add beef broth and simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Add baked meatballs to the skillet and spoon onions over them.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella and Swiss cheese on top, cover until melted, garnish, and serve.
